I think that you have given the Jay-Z's and Eminem's of the rap world entirely too much integrity credit by implying that they would have resisted inclusion in the video game market for even a second to uphold their "street cred" or to opt out of the massive profits of being involved with the hugely successful "Hero" series. It is far more likely that they would, as they seem to be doing, embark on a campaign of coolness designed to further the product's "cred" and indirectly their own for being cosen to particpate among the legends already touted by the games predecessors.
I would be willing to bet that not only are they not worried about losing face as legitimate artists or even street thugs but counting on this games global popularity to further cement them as the boastful legends they always wanted to be.
This was an easy, One-and-done decision for them. I have always thought it was shame that fans like yourself attribute their own integrity and morals to celebritites only to be disappointed time and time again.
